A bicycle rider crushed to death and a man lost his life in two separate accidents

A bicycle rider has been crushed to death by a tanker, while another man also lost his life, in two separate fatal accidents in Ogun State.
Spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corp (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who made this known, said the first accident involving a tanker marked ARG-179-XA and a bicycle occurred at Ogere toll gate.
Akinbiyi said the accident was caused by reckless driving on the part of the tanker driver and reckless riding by the bicycle rider.
He added that the body deceased had been handed over to the Hausa community in the area.
The spokesman said the second accident occurred at Kereku area of the State and it involved a Nissan Almera taxi, marked WDE-23-XE and a Ford truck loaded with stones, marked WDE-417-XA.
He added that the accident was allegedly caused by the driver of the taxi, who was allegedly sleeping behind the wheels, while he ran into the truck which was parked on the road shoulder along the expressway in the process.
Akinbiyi said two males and one female were involved in the accident, leading to the death of one of the males.

He added that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, while the other two involved in the accident were taken to the General hospital, Ijaye for treatment.
