A
prostitute, Olubunmi Funke is now in police net in Ogun State for selling her
three-year-old daughter for N280,000.
Funke who
was paraded along 31 others by the State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Illiyasu at
the State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, admitted to have
been a prostitute while speaking with newsmen at the parade.
She said she
decided to sell the daughter because she does not know who impregnated her
among her customers, while she used the money made to offset her debt.
The suspect
said she started prostitution after her husband sent her packing some years
back, when he married another wife.
She was
paraded with her two alleged partners in crime, who allegedly specialized in
child stealing and kidnapping in the South West.
The other
women arrested along with her are Abibat Oyesanya and Morenike Shittu.
Funke said “I
am a prostitute. I engaged in prostitution after my husband sent me packing.
So, I decided to give out my daughter to woman who gave me N280,000. I used the
money to off set my debt.
The woman
also requested for more children based on more demands for those adopting
children. That is why I kidnapped the baby girl at Bodija, Ojurin, Ibadan and
brought her to the woman”
However,
part of those paraded by the Police Commissioner include, is a self-styled
Prophet, Darasimi Rotimi and his accomplice, Ibikunle Sunday, who allegedly
killed one Sarah Olowokere and dissected her body for rituals.
The Police
boss said the suspects allegedly killed Olowokere at Sango area of the State
and dissected her body, removed her head, wrist, heart, breasts and private
parts.
He added
that the remains of the victim was buried at Alafia street of Alagbola Ijoko
Ota.
40-year-old
Sunday, an Okada rider, admitted that he killed the victim by hitting a plank
on her head, noting that the victim was the girl friend of the third suspect,
who is still at large, while the Prophet denied his involvement in the act.
Other
suspects paraded are 10 armed robbery suspects, including a female, Bosede
Oguntoye, nicknamed Abeni Tiny.
A pastor,
Olotu Oluwakayode was also paraded by the Commissioner, for allegedly diverting
N17.8 million into his bank account.
Meanwhile,
the Police boss said the command is committed to flush out criminals in the
State, while the suspects were arrested as part of “ember month mop-up
operations of the command.
