Two suspected syndicates who allegedly specialized in
killing people for rituals have been arrested by the Police in Ogun State.
The State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, who paraded
the suspects at the office of the State Command’s Special Anti-Robbery squad (FSARS),
said one of the syndicates, comprising of Adebayo Mudashiru and Rasheed Abass,
who are based at No.6 Baase compound, Totoro Abeokuta were arrested on Thursday
by operatives of FSARS.
Iliyasu said they were sighted on a motorcycle with a
suspicious bag by the operatives who were on township patrol and were
forcefully stopped and searched.
He added that fresh and dried human parts were discovered in
their bag, while they were allegedly discovered to be serial killers.
The police boss listed items recovered from them as fresh
and dried human parts, human skull, lizard and charms.
He added that the other syndicate, comprising of Lateef
Aremu and Kolawole Shodipo, were arrested at Owode-Egba area of the State same
Thursday.
He explained that operatives of FSARS received information
about them and as a result trailed them, while they were allegedly arrested
with human skulls and bones.
67-year-old Aremu, while speaking with newsmen said he is an
herbalist, while he had once told Shodipo to bring human skull for ritual
purpose, which he did.
Other suspects paraded by the Commissioner are Michael Uko
and Tope Adegoke, who were arrested for armed robbery.
They allegedly robbed a victim and took away his ATM card,
while they allegedly withdrew the sum of N100,000 from his account, after
inflicting cutlass injuries on him and forcefully getting his pin number.
