Kidnapped Chinese rescued by Police in Ogun State

A kidnapped Chinese has been rescued by Police in Ogun State.

The Chinese, Lee Xian Qiang, was reportedly kidnapped by six armed men at Ogere area of the state, along Lagos- Ibadan expressway at about 5pm on Monday, on his way to Abeokuta from Kogi State.

Spokesman of the state Police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this known said immediately the case was reported, the state Police commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu dispatched operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(FSARS) to the scene.

Oyeyemi said the team led by their Commander Deputy Superintendent of Police,  Uba Adam swung into action, combed the entire area and later located the hideout of the kidnappers.

He added that on sighting the Policemen, the hoodlums allegedly engaged them in gun battle at the end of which one of the suspects was arrested while others escaped with gunshot injuries and the   victim was rescued unhurt.

The spokesman said that the arrested suspect is currently helping the Police in their investigation, while the victim who was full of praise for the Police has been re-united with his people.

The State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, according to him, has appealed to members of the public especially hospitals and other health workers to report any body with bullet injuries if seen in their area.
