Rafiu Ladipo to govt- see sport as a means of reshaping Nigeria economy

Government at all levels have been advised to see sports as a means of taking youths out of the streets and make them breadwinners of their family, as well as key into the money making aspect of the industry.

President General Nigerian Football supporters club who also doubles as the chairman Nigeria boxing board of control (NBB of C), Dr Rafiu Ladipo who made this known yesterday in Abeokuta, where he was the guest of Sports writers Association of Nigeria Ogun state chapter for its monthly Forum, said a proper development of the sports sector could reshape the economy of the country.

Dr Ladipo said it is high time governments give priority attention to all things sports.

He also praised the current leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, while he expressed optimism that the Super Eagles will do well at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

On the crisis rocking the Nigerian Football supporters club, the seasoned football enthusiast disclosed that the election conducted in Lagos where Samuel Ikpea emerged as national president was the authentic process and urged football supporters, fans and enthusiasts in the country to disregard any other faction.

The NBB of C chairman however confirmed that there are a plans to bring the current heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua to Nigeria and see how the country can benefit from his prominence and influence.
