Man in Police net for impersonating Mike Adenuga and defrauding victim of N1,028,770

A 24-year-old man is now in Police for allegedly defrauding a victim up to the tune of N1,028,770.

Spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this known, said the suspect, Ehioboh Lucky, had initially impersonated Dr. Mike Adenuga, before he defrauded the victim.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested in the State following a complaint by one Abiola Olalekan Ogunseye whom he defrauded of the said sum.

He added that the suspect who hails from Edo State opened a facebook account with the name and picture of the business mogul which he has been using to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

The spokesman said the victim, Ogunseye came in contact with him on facebook where he promised to get employment for him at Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC), while the victim has to pay the sum of N1.5 million to settle some members of management board of the cooperation who will influence his appointment.

He added that the sum of N1,028,770 has so far been paid to the suspect before the victim realized that he is a fraudster.

Oyeyemi said the victim lodged a complaint via a petition to the State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, while the Officer in charge of Anti Kidnapping and Cultism of the Command, Chief Superintendent of Police Opeyemi Kujoore was directed to go after the suspect.

He added that after weeks of investigation, the suspect was apprehended on Monday 6th of November 2017, while items recovered from him include one Iphone 6, one dell laptop, eight different Sims card, five different ATM cards and one international passport.
