Three dead, four injured in multiple accident involving 11 vehicles in Ogun

Three people have lost their lives in a multiple fatal accident that involved 11 vehicles in Ogun State.

Spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who made this known to Newsworldpremium, said the accident occurred on the Kara Bridge along Lagos/Ibadan expressway, around 6:30am today.

Akinbiyi said four others were injured in the accident, while he listed the vehicles involved as a DAF truck, marked APP-769-XR, Mazda bus marked AKD-520-XN, another Mazda bus marked BDG-327-AA, another DAF truck, a Cabster marked XS-216-KSF, Man Diesel marked AGL-545-XF, a Ford bus marked KTU-320-XN, Lexus Jeep marked FKJ-475-BR, a Mack truck, Sino truck marked KRD-122-XD and Sino truck marked KRD-123-XD.

He added that the accident was caused by over speeding and loss of control.

The Spokesman said the road around the area has been diverted, while operatives of TRACE, the Federal Road Safety Corp, Police and Soldiers, as well as officials of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, are on ground to put the situation under control as at the time of filing this report.
