The Commandant of Peace Corps of
Nigeria, Ogun State Command, Olalekan Yusuff has been conferred with an honourary
Doctorate Decree by Edexcel University, Republic of Benin.
Yusuff and his Oyo State
counterpart, Oludare Adesina and two others were honoured with the Prestigious
awards by the bilingual private owned University situated at Port Novo.
Until the recent honourary Doctorate
award, the Ogun Commandant holds Bachelors Degree in Political Science and
Masters Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan.
He is a graduate of National Peace
Academy (NPA) and holds a certificate in Basic Conflict Management Course
(BCMC).
He has many professional
qualifications and fellowship awards including, member of Institute for Peace
and Strategic Studies (IPSS), Member, Society for peace study and practice
(SPSP), Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and Fellow, Institute of
Criminological Studies and Security Management, Nigeria (ICSSM).
Speaking about the awardees, the
President of the University, Professor Ode Emmanuel noted that they were
carefully selected based on their track records and achievements in their
choosing careers.
He urged them to continue to
represent the institution well wherever they go and also work towards making
the citadel of learning one of the best in Africa.
While appreciating the University
management and other stakeholders for their show of love, the Ogun State
Commandant, Olalekan Yussuf thanked the National Commandant of Peace Corps of
Nigeria, Ambassador Dickson Akoh for establishing Peace Corps and creating the
platform for People to leverage on.
