Nigerian midfielder
Nosa Igiebor has joined Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta from Major League
Soccer League outfit Vancouver Whitecaps.
Anorthosis announced
Igiebor’s arrival on their website yesterday.
A statement on the
club’s official website reads “Famagusta Anorthosis welcomes Nosa Igiebor and
we wish him every success at our club.”
He joined Anorthosis
at a time when the only Nigerian at the club, Shehu Abdullahi, is close to
joining Turkish outfit, Bursaspor.
27-year-old Igiebor
who has been capped 15 times by Nigeria was part of the Super Eagles squad that
won the African Nations Cup title in 2013 in South Africa.
After playing for Nigeria
Professional Football League clubs Sharks and Warri Wolves, Igiebor started his
European career with Norwegian club Lillestrom in 2009 and also played for
Hapoel Tel Aviv, Real Betis, Maccabi Tel Aviv with whom he won the Isra
