Arabambi Abayomi sworn-in as new Labour chairman in Ogun state

T he Labour Party says Nigerians should see the Party as the next option to the All Progressive Congress (APC), whose “change” agenda according to Labour has failed.
The National Chairman of Labour Party, Alhaji Abdul Kadir Abdul Salam who made the call while speaking at the Inauguration of the Comrade Arabambi Abayomi led Ogun State executives of the party   at Park Inn hotel, in Abeokuta, the state capital appreciated the people of the state for identifying with the party.
Abdul Salam assured the party members and loyalists that there is no crisis in the party, noting that if party members prefer Arabambi to lead the party more than any other person, he does not have objection to it.
Earlier in the week, a faction of the party led by a factional Chairman of the party, Chief Biodun Owolabi  dragged the party and other defendants to court over the parallel congresses  held on  January 22,  2018 which produced two executives , one produced  Chief Biodun Owolabi as  its  chairman while the other  elected  Mr Abayomi Arabambi as its chairman.
Owolabi and two others members of his executive in the suit FHC/A3/CS/10/18, claimed that their executive were duly voted for by the authentic delegates of the party across the 20 local governments  of the state.
However, speaking further, the National Chairman said that the wish of members of the party must prevail, while he described Arabambi as a man of great qualities, who is bold, courageous and fearless.
Abdul Salam said when voted into office, Labour Party will move Nigeria forward.
He said, “I am assuring you with the effort of Labour, we are going to move Nigeria forward. We are going to produce leaflets and posters, to show what the Labour government can do.”
In his acceptance speech the newly sworn-in Chairman, Arabambi Abayomi said the inauguration marks the beginning of New Ogun state.

Arabambi said the party will use all constitutional means to unseat the APC government in the state.
He added that the Labour Party has been in the forefront of opposition for the past 30 months in the state.
He said, “We have been the undisputed leader of the opposition for the past 30 months, as our party has been able to identify with the masses and civil servants whose salaries, pensions, gratuities, cooperative deductions has been kidnapped and held to ransom by the evanses and witches now occupying our government house.”
