Police arrests man with human head in Ogun

A 25-year old man has been arrested allegedly with human head by the Police at Asese area of Ogun State.

Spokesman of the state Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this known said the suspect, Babalola Alex is an indigene of Ondo Town.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested at about 12pm yesterday by operatives of Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) who were on routine patrol of the area.

He added that his arrest followed an information from a member of the public who called the attention of FSARS operative to two men with a sack coming out of a nearby bush.

The spokesman said that the informant informed the operatives that he went into the bush to ease himself when he saw the two men hiding what look like a human head in a sack.

He added that the Policemen then went after the two men and subsequently got one of them arrested while the other one escaped, while on searching the sack with the arrested one, it was discovered that the sack allegedly contained a human head.
         
Oyeyemi said the suspect, on interrogation said that an herbalist asked him and his escaped partner who he simply identified has Ijebu to bring a human head for money making ritual.
         
According to the spokesman the Baale of Asese, Chief Kasumu Sonola has commended the FSARS team for their quick response and routine patrol of his area, urging them to intensify the patrol in order to rid the area of criminals.

Oyeyemi said the State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a manhunt for the fleeing partner of the suspect and further investigation, as well as possible prosecution of the arrested suspect.
