Fake Lawyer in Police net in Ogun

A suspected fake layer has been arrested by the Police in Ogun state.

The suspect, Omoniyi Vacoster who has allegedly been parading himself as a lawyer and holding legal brief for unsuspecting members of the public, was arrested following a complaint by a member the state chapter of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Omomehin Oluwatoyin.

Spokesman of the state Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this known, said Oluwatoyin reported that the suspect had been going to various courts in the state to defend cases, while NBA’s investigation about him indicated that he has never at any time been called to Bar. 

Oyeyemi said on interrogation, the suspect confessed that he read Law in the university, but he has never been called to Bar having failed to go through the law school and as a result he is not qualified to practice as a lawyer.

The state Police Commissioner, Ahmed iliyasu, according to the spokesman, has ordered that the case should be transferred to state criminal investigation and intelligence department further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.
