The Olota-elect, Oba (DR.) Adeyemi
Abdulkabir Obalanlege, says his position is a first class Oba, and not a
paramount ruler.
Oba Obalanlege who made this known
to newsmen at his resident in Ota said that the clarification became necessary
to correct misconception and misunderstanding among the people of the area.
He said "The position of
Olota of Ota is not a paramount ruler, but that of a first-class Oba, grade A
which is the highest of any Oba. We are working on how to make it a
paramount ruler of Awori land.’’
He added that he will use his
position and the experience he had gathered while abroad to better the lives of
his people through the adoption of Information Technology, stressing the
importance of technology in modern governance.
He commended the present
administration in Ogun State for the coronation of four Coronet Obas in the
area, saying this would bring governance closer to the people and ensure rapid
development across the nooks and crannies of the area.
He enjoined residents
of Ota and its environs not to destroy government properties, but protect them
as they were put in place for their comfort.
