A 21-year-old man is now in Police
net for allegedly stabbing an 18-year-old boy to death, in Ogun state.
Spokesman of the state Police
command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this known said the incident occurred on
Christmas day at Ope-Ilu area of Agbado, Ifo local government area of the State.
Oyeyemi said the suspect, Isreal Oluranti
allegedly stabbed the deceased, Farooq Olusegun to death after an argument
ensued over a missing phone, which the deceased allegedly accused the suspect
of been in its possession.
He added that this infuriated the
suspect consequent upon which he took one of the beer bottles around, broke it
and stabbed the deceased on the chest.
The spokesman said the victim was
quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, while he died before reaching the
hospital.
He added that the suspect was
arrested after the father of the victim Kolawole Abiola reported the case at
Agbado Divisional Headquarters of the command.
The state Police
Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, according to him has ordered the immediate
transfer of the case to Homicide Section of State Criminal Investigation and
Intelligence Department for further investigation.
